Submissions to Femke Magazine

We serve a mostly Canadian audience that ranges from 19 to 35 years old, are creative, forward-thinking, body-positive, and love fashion, music, and their environment.

We are accepting creative submissions that fall within our editorial mandate, for these Categories and Sections:

That’s Random - Relevant, creative pieces from 200 - 2500 words. All articles published digitally appear here first

#FridayFeminist - short profile, birthday must land on the Friday, humanitarian focus, from 200 - 500 words

#StyleMania - relevant, creative pieces from 200 - 1000 words

#WorthIt - short, relevant book, theatre, film, and music reviews from 200 - 500 words

Femke Magazine - fiction, creative nonfiction, and poetry from 50 - 2500 words

Illustration, comics, and photography - varies, from $25-$200

Our website receives most of its traffic from social media referrals and direct search, approximately 80% Canadian, 15% U.S., 4% UK, and 1% abroad.

Our printed magazine is published once a year and is distributed via retail stores (as listed on Front Page News), and through mail order on femkemagazine.com.

Accepting: Essays, reviews, fiction, poetry, creative nonfiction, illustrations, comics

Issues per year: Online, publishing 2-3x per week & 1 issue in print/year

Submission period: Anytime

Payment: $0.06 cents per word, $40 for poems, $50 per page for comics, $25-$200 for illustrations
